While using an online translator today I realized how close we are to a universal language. Computers are revolutionizing the rate at which we communicate. Language barriers are quickly crumbling. Countless programs and algorithms are connecting the lingual dots that separate us from communicating with millions, or more precisely, billions of our non-english speaking counterparts. Imagine the countless ways in which society will change once this revolution is complete. In the not too distant future communication through language will no longer be the obstacle it is today. Surely, other obstacles will emerge, but the new barriers to communication will probably be cultural or physical, and not something base and primitive like our current inability to understand a foreign language.
